I really want to say a heartfelt thank you to Mike for helping me and my baby girl today. At his insistence, I swung by... his shop in Altamonte. He helped me program a new key fob so that I can lock and unlock my car easier again. It may not seem like much, but having a child in a car seat in a wheelchair/stroller when I couldn’t lock the car remotely made getting her out of the car an impossible dance. Greg arranged to view the door lock problems I had. He was on time and found a good solution to avoid replacing the... entire entry door. He put a metal 'wrap' around the door knob area that was screwed into both sides of the door and also chiseled out some deteriorated wood from the door so now the latch is screwed into the wrap and not the bad wood. He also added a commercial grade latch strike into the door jam and several tapcon screws into the hinges so the entire door frame is secured to the block frame. All that and more for under $200.read more

Bought a new home & wanted to have locks that were (much) better than what you can get at the big box stores. Marc came... out for an initial face-to-face consultation to look at my doors & find out what I wanted. Greg came back a few days later with the new locks & installed them. There was a problem with my front door that required him to order another part & Greg came back a few days later to install the part at no additional charge. The new part didn't work as expected so Tony resolved the issue a few days later. I'm sure having to make multiple visits is unusual but it says a lot about their commitment to making sure that the work is done right! They are not affordable. The first technician arrived and did not have the proper tools drills or electronic equipment... on board his truck to open the safe. They also had to call in to American Security for a special override code (that did not work) but that should have been done before they arrived as "Affordable" had sold us the unit and they already had the serial number of the unit. So, time was wasted. The next day a 2nd technician arrived and also called for the bypass security code and did not have a key pad to attach to try it. Another electronic tool called "Phoenix" also failed and finally the tech started drilling. The hardened steel deflected the drill bit and had to be held in place with a chain and heavy jig. The tech did not have enough body strength and had to rely upon the jig. After drilling the tech installed two new components but then found that he did not have the required electronic cable and had to send out for that. Additionally, there is news on the Internet that says that the safe company admitted to problems with failing electronics for the safes and would provide new ones free but Affordable would not go to bat or make any offer of compensation. The technicians were very nice and pleasant but the invoice for the work was NOT "Affordable". In fact it was one half the value of the safe when purchased new.read more
