Both systems provide extra security because they both make it hard for burglars or unauthorized personnel to bypass them. For instance, our high-security locks are unaffected by bump keys and traditional lock-picking methods. In addition, their unique keys cannot be copied, allowing for greater control. Our access readers unlock doors and turn off alarms using cards, keypads, two-factor authentication, or biometrics. These are also difficult to copy and bypass without authorization.
What Types Of Access Systems Are There?
Affordable Lock & Security Solutions partners with two high-security lock producers, Mul-T-Lock LTD and Medeco, to provide you with the best. Both utilize patented-key technology, with keys that stores cannot copy except by the original lock manufacturer. There are two kinds of carded access readers: Magnetic strip and proximity. Magnetic stripe cards are swiped in the reader, whereas proximity strips use an RFID signal to unlock a door when it gets within a certain distance. Functionality is the same. Once the reader accesses the card, it reads the information stored on the card, such as the holder and locations the holder can access. If the information matches up, the door is opened. The system tracks the history of each card, including the number of times it accessed an area and when. Keypad readers tend to be less secure than other access control systems because all that is needed to unlock the door is the correct set of numbers or letters. However, you can change this code as frequently as you would like to help control security. Some systems use both card readers and keypads, creating a two-factor authentication. Biometric fingerprint readers are the most secure access system. An individual puts their unique fingerprint on the reader, and if it matches the list of approved individuals, the door opens.

Incredible service! I was in a jam and forgot my keys on a service call. Swung into the shop and showed them a picture... of my keys and they were able to cut and copy what I needed on the spot! Warren did a... good job this time too but I was shocked that changing 2 deadbolts and two levers and rekeying a front door lock was $750. My appointment window was between 1-3PM, received a call stating he was ahead of schedule and could come earlier if I... liked. He arrived 15 minutes from the call as he said he would, at 12:20. I am flabbergasted by the service that my company received from Affordable Lock. I own an auto repair shop. We had a... Toyota that needed the Pass Key System reprogrammed. We called Affordable to ask if they could do the job. They said yes no problem. The first technician arrived at 9:00am and he attempted to reprogram the car and was unable to reprogram it so he called another technician for help. The second technician arrived at 9:45am and both technicians then tried to reprogram the car. At 11:00am the 2nd technician said that they were unable to reprogram the car because they did not have the equipment necessary to do the job. The next day I saw a charge on my credit card for $177.00!! I did not receive a receipt and did not sign any paperwork so I assumed that they were not charging us because they were unable to repair the car. I called the manager at Affordable and she said that they charged my card for a service call even though they were unable to repair the car. I asked her why they were charging us if they were unable to repair the vehicle. She said they charge even if they can't fix it! This is absurd!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!read more

Quick service, friendly technician. The only problem I had with "Affordable Lock" & Security is that it is really NOT... "affordable" as the company name suggests. I realize the company has overhead costs to pay, but when the technician had to drive only about 2 miles, then takes a lock picking tool and opens your door within a couple of minutes, the charge of $100.00 plus tax was exhorbitant! I'll call around for more reasonable pricing if I need a locksmith again!read more
